Living the Golf Cart Life on Newport’s Hidden Bay Island

Can you imagine living in a home where you could not drive your car home at night?

On this episode of Duffy Diaries, let’s chat homes and golf carts. Can you imagine living in a home where you could not drive your car home at night? Well that is exactly what Bay Island is; it is a place where you only have a golf cart if you live there.

Well you can have a car, but you leave it in a garage across the island before you jump in your golf cart to head home. The island itself is located on the Balboa Peninsula and it is the only island in Newport that does have cars and is only accessible via a small bridge that will only fit golf carts.

The island is not accessible to the public and has 23 residences, a botanical garden, courtyard garden, tennis court, and several beaches and some of the best views of the Harbor.
