Before you rip out your vintage tile, take another look.
That Mediterranean terracotta, those hand-painted Catalina tiles, that 1960s pastel bathroom you think is outdated… it may actually be one of the most unique design features in your home.
There is an entire industry dedicated to preserving, restoring, and celebrating vintage tile, sinks, and original fixtures. More and more buyers are falling in love with homes that have authentic character because once it’s gone, it’s nearly impossible to recreate.
If your vintage tile is in good condition, consider updating the bathroom around it instead of tearing everything out. New lighting, paint, wallpaper, mirrors, fixtures, and hardware can completely transform a space while preserving the craftsmanship and history that make it special.
