How much is luck and how much does hard work play a factor in where we each are in real estate?
For me, I think that this job is 100% hard work. Last night I was at a dinner with out of town guests and left the table to take a few calls. Kind of just par for the course in our business; the job doesn’t end if you are at dinner. There is always a deal to save, a client to give good news to, and sadly a client to give bad news to.
They say buying a house is one of the 5 most stressful things in life, along with death, divorce, loss of a job, and terminal illness. Yes you heard that right. So it is my job to take as much of that stress off of a clients’ plate and get it to the end. At the same time, managing all of the deadlines, personalities and having the client feel like they were heard and represented to the fullest of my ability. That to me is all hard work and zero luck.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love the art of the deal, turning over rocks that haven’t been turned and the light in someone’s eye when we made the impossible happen in this market.
Hope you guys enjoyed our table talk. Jen and I sure enjoyed doing them and hearing all the feedback!
See you at the table soon!
