Why? Why we do what we do? Because in a business that can be emotionally challenging and difficult, your “why” is what keeps you showing up. That was the topic of a conversation that I was honored to speak about next to two bad ass women; the inspirational Stacey Edge, and the hilarious Lauren Herskovic!
My why has changed over the years, from the thrill of the deal, to helping people through some of life’s hardest transitions. But the theme of home, and why it is important to me will never change.
Looking out at a room full of strong, brilliant women, I felt both calm and cracked open. I wasn’t hiding behind numbers or deals. I spoke from the heart about what shaped me, how I grew up, and what got me here.
I’ve never been someone who would describe myself as vulnerable. That word used to feel weak. But the older I get, the more I see that showing the cracks and sharing what’s real is where the strength lives. It’s what builds trust, in life and in real estate.
It is one of the best gifts.
I also may have been the one who got on stage and actually used a curse word as a verb, adjective, and noun. But that’s real life, and honestly, that’s me. Women truly can solve many of the world’s problems. We have grit, grace, poise, and heart and that’s exactly what this business takes.
